What happened in Invincible Season 4 Episode 5 “Give Us A Moment”

Invincible Season 4 Episode 5 brings us to one of the biggest Foreshadowed events throughout the series, the beginning of the viltrumite war. As Nolan (Omni-Man) reunites with his son, Mark (Invincible), he tells him that he must join them in their war efforts against the Viltrum Empire. Mark, although still holds a grudge against his father, agrees to join as the fate of Earth and many other planets lies in his hands. When Oliver finds out Mark will be embarking on a mission in space to aid Nolan and Allen in stopping the Viltrum Empire, he exclaims that he’s going with Mark. After a brief discussion with Mark and Debbie, they agree to let him join the war efforts against the Viltrum Empire. Additionally, Tech Jacket is recruited as they were able to stand their ground against the Invincible variants during the Invincible War. Somewhat deep into the group’s journey in space, they were attacked by viltrumites, along with Conquest who wished to finish off Mark and Oliver. After an intense battle sequence, with Mark and Nolan saving Oliver countless times, Nolan suggests Oliver catches his breath on the nearest planet. (For reference, Viltrumites can hold their breaths for weeks; However, in a fight they can have the air knocked out of them.) After Oliver enters this planet, conquest follows him while taunting Mark that he’s gonna kill Oliver. Mark chases after Conquest and attacks him right before Conquest got ahold of Oliver. During this fight, Invincible holds tight onto Conquests neck, choking him and saying “You’re never breathing again”. During this long and clearly playful fight for conquest, he slowly realized that Mark wasn’t letting go of his neck and begins to truly fight for his life; However, Mark’s endurance was everlasting. With every punch, it seemed like Mark’s grip on Conquest’s neck got tighter. Conquest grabs mark’s face as a desperate attempt to stop him, but Mark bites off his thumb . Then, Conquest rams his arm through Mark’s stomach as though it’d be fatal. Mark’s resilience endures and he continues to choke Conquest as his gut’s pouring out of him gruesomely. Finally, Mark’s everlasting grip on Conquest’s neck leads to his death. Unfortunately for Mark, the majority of his gut’s are outside of his body. Technically Mark is alive while Conquest is dead, so Mark remains the victor (All by himself too!).

How Did Mark overpower Conquest?

The last time we Saw conquest in season 3’s final, we watched Mark get destroyed by Conquest and get completely overpowered. After Eve was “killed” by Conquest, enraging mark enough to do some real damage To Conquest in exchange with completely shattering his bones. As it seemed like it wasn’t enough, Eve was then resurrected and blasted Conquest, vaporizing his skin and weakening him. With eve’s help against Conquest, mark was able to use his rage to “Finish” Conquest to death and head-butt him to “death”. Unfortunately, cecil collected conquest’s body and studied it knowing he was still alive, believing he could contain Conquest. This is the reason why we’ve gotten the Invincible Vs Conquest rematch in season 4 Episode 5. Now, why is mark able to overpower conquest in this latest episode If just what seems like months in the series has past by? Is mark stronger than Conquest?

No, he’s definitely not stronger than conquest. He’s not even AS strong as Conquest. So how’d he beat him? Mark’s devotion towards Conquest never breathing along with Conquest lacking the ability to think without proper blood flow is the main factor of Mark’s victory against Conquest. Additionally, Conquest has been known to play with his opponents. It’s clear that Conquest was playing with Mark, not taking him serious enough until later realizing that Mark was gonna kill him if he couldn’t get him to loosen his grip. So why didn’t Conquest break Mark’s arms? By the time Conquest was fighting for his life, he was under extreme pressure And was doing anything he could to get free, without thinking properly. One of the main supporting facts of this was that Conquest grabbed mark’s face without any end goal, essentially allowing Mark to bite off his finger. Conquest was pushing Mark’s face away, as if that’d make Mark release his hands from Conquest’s neck. Conquest’s death was the direct result of Mark’s Perseverance and Conquest failing to take Mark serious enough. although Mark isn’t directly stronger than Conquest, he managed to beat him because of his endurance and perseverance.
