The sequel to the infamous roguelike deck-building game that hit early access nearly a month ago, Slay The Spire 2, (currently only playable on Steam) is going crazy on steam charts. Having overwhelmingly positive reviews, It reached the #1 spot on the charts just within a day of its release and has sold over 5 million copies as of right now. Although each playthrough of this game can range from 30 minutes – 3 hours, you could play this game with hundreds of hours with the amount of content put into this game. There are 10 ascension levels, the further you climb the more challenging the enemies and debuffs get. In this rouge-like, you chose between 5 characters.

“The Iron Clad”, a slay the spire classic who tends to specialize in strength and block builds, with a generous relic called “burning blood” that restores 6 HP after each combat encounter is complete.

“The Silent” is excellent for a poison or shiv build, and they get a pretty nice upper hand being able to draw an additional 2 cards each turn because of their “Ring of the snake” relic. Next we’ve got “The Regent”, a Slay The Spire 2 original character who has a really unique system that balances between both “energy” and “blue star energy”.

The Regent has cards that require either of these energy types, which make it much more of a challenge to balance your deck, but also holds the opportunity to become overpowered if you play your “cards” right. Forage is one of the strongest builds you can have with the Regent.

Next we have “The Necrobinder”, a necromancer who summons her reanimated pal “Otsy” to take any unshielded damage or throw some punches for her.

Last but definitely not least, we have “The Defect” who can channel elemental orbs that can either damage an enemy all the way to giving you additional energy. Careful though, you only have 3 slots (However, there are relics and combat buffs that can expand your orb slots).

Did I forget to mention that Slay the Spire 2 is Co-Op? There are tons of synergy cards like that’ll have you leaving battles with friends completely unscathed. So far, i’m really enjoying this game, spending nearly 15 hours a week climing our ascension rank. If you’ve played this game before, let me know how you feel about it and who your favorite charecter is in the comments before, and good luck slaying the spire.
