Capcom’s immensive Resident Evil series that’s celebrated it’s 30th birthday a week ago has a ton in store for the next couple of years. With over 30 Resident Evil games as of 2026, it doesn’t seem like Capcoms slowing down. After the massive success of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has confirmed that a DLC and mercenaries mode are in the works. What’s next after that? It seems like Capcom may be working on sequels, remakes, and DLCs all at the same time.

We all know very well that Resident Evil Requiem is one of the best selling games of the series, as it reached 6 million copies sold worldwide within 2 weeks of the games release. This massive hit has reeled in nostolgic and unprecedented players, creating traction throughout social media within subjects such as Ending A and Ending B, the mixture of action and horror elements surrounding the games theme, and major theories as to what’s happened with leon between the events of Resident Evil 6 and 9. This traction has undoubtedly resulted in the mass production of Resident Evil content.

Capcom’s recent Resident Evil Remake Trilogy releasing just shy of a few years before Resident Evil Requiem hints at a bigger picture. Resident Evil Remakes are in the works. Revamping the story of Raccon City and Leon was a great build-up towards Resident Evil Requiem, and we’ve got a lot more to look forward to. Chris Redfields mention in Resident Evil Requiem suggests that we’ll see him in the sequel (Likely to be considered Resident Evil 10). It wouldn’t be far off to say that based on Capcoms patterns of releasing the Resident Evil Remake Trilogy before Resident Evil Requiem with Leon as one of the main protagonists could imply that Capcom is planning on releasing remakes of games that Chris Redfield is in before the release of Resident Evil 10.

After all is said, the only confirmation we have is that DLCs for Resident Evil Requiem are in the work and that we’ve been left on a cliffhanger.
